Meizhou City locates in the northeast of Guangdong Province, with Fujian Province in the northeast and Jiangxi Province in the northwest. 1. General Survey of Economic Development
After the open and reform policy been implemented, Meizhou has made great development in export orientation economy. In 2003, the total export and import achieved $300 million, among which the export was $210 million, with an increase of 30.7%. The contractual foreign investment was $168 million, with an increase of 51.6%, the actual utilized foreign investment was $140 million, with an increase of 28.6%.
